Ein Balanceakt

Einst kam ein neuer Wasserträger mit einem über die Schultern gespannten Tragjoch und zwei Eimern zur Füllstelle.

Der rechte wurde mit Vollkommenheit, Glück und Zufriedenheit gefüllt und der linke mit Chaos, Ärger und Zweifel.

„Nur den rechten Eimer möchte ich transportieren!“, sagte der junge Mann und der alte Herr kam seinem Wunsch nach.

Da sank der Junge kläglich in die Knie und bat den Herrn um Hilfe. Dieser befüllte sodann den linken Eimer und so konnte sich der junge Mann langsam wieder aufrichten.

Der Alte sprach danach zu ihm: „Zuviel von den einem kann uns schon mal überfordern. Manchmal ist daher sogar der Ausgleich von zwei Gegenpolen einfacher zu tragen.“

Der junge Mann bedankte sich und ging fortan demütig seines Weges.

A balancing act

Once a new water carrier came to the filling place with a yoke stretched over his shoulders and two buckets.

The right one was filled with completeness, bliss and contentment and the left one with chaos, anger and doubt.

„I want to carry only the right bucket!“ said the young man and the old man met his desire.

Then the boy sank miserably to his knees and asked the master for help. The old man then filled the left bucket and the young man could slowly stand up again.

The old man then said to him: „Too much of one can overwhelm us. Sometimes, therefore, even the balance of two opposite poles is easier to bear.“

The young man thanked him and humbly went his way.
