„Sex ohne Schmerz, ist wie Essen ohne Geschmack.“ das sagte der Marquis de Sade. Und in der Tat gibt es seit vielen Jahrzehnten eine wiederkehrende Welle des SM, die auch Einzug in Film und Buch hält.

Doch ist Schmerz und Sex tatsächlich wie Essen ohne Geschmack?

Denn was ist ein Essen ohne Geschmack? Fad. Es sättigt, aber es löst keine Freude oder Euphorie aus. Der Unterschied zwischen einer Standardküche und Nouvelle Cuisine.

Doch ist es beim Sex auch so? Ist Sex ohne Schmerz tatsächlich fad, sättigend, aber nicht euphorisierend. Ist Schmerz notwendig um Sex als Gourmetmenu wahrzunehmen?

Die immer größer werdende SM-Anhängerschaft lässt dies einem glauben. Der Markt für Fesseln, Peitschen und Co läuft. Viele probieren aus, was einem medial vorgelebt und angepriesen wird.

Doch entspricht es dann auch den eigenen Werten? Ist Zärtlichkeit out und Schmerz in? Oder lässt sich beides vereinen?

Die Frage kann man sich nur selbst beantworten.

Doch man sollte sich selbst immer treu bleiben, egal was einem vorgelebt wird, was in oder out ist. Denn kein Trend kann bestimmen, was einem gut tut bzw. gut tun soll.

„Sex without pain is like food without taste.“ said the Marquis de Sade. Indeed for decades S/M has been coming and going and has found its way into movies and books.

But is pain and sex actually like food without taste?

‘Cos what is food with no taste? Tasteless. Boring. It makles you full but brings no enjoyment or euphoria. Like the difference between normal food and Nouvelle Cuisine.

But is it the same with sex? Is sex without pain really boring? It makes you „full“ but not euphoric? Is pain necessary to experience sex like a gourmet menu?

The growing S/M-constituency leads to this believe. The market for bonds, whips and co is booming. Many try what media is exemplifying and praising.

But does that do justice to one’s own values? Is tenderness out and pain in? Or are both compatible?

Only you can answer these questions.

But one should stay true to oneself, no matter what is exemplified, in or out. No trend can/should determine what is good for you or should be good for you.
